Programs and Partners: Adult Programs

Group DiscussionA number of activities and classes are held throughout the year for adults. Many outings and socials are held for senior citizens. Neighborhood health fairs and health screenings are held throughout the year. Neighborhood Organizations and the Inter-Community Council arrange neighborhood activities throughout the year. GED Classes and Testing - The Athens Housing Authority's Resident Services Department can provide guidance to individuals wishing to obtain their GED. Call (706) 425-5391.

Safety Programs - Working with residents, staff and local law enforcement officers, safety programs have been developed with the dynamics of each neighborhood in mind. Call (706) 425-5391 for more information.

Job Skills Assessment Classes - The Resident Support Department periodically holds classes for residents to assess their job skills and conduct discussions and counseling for seeking employment.

Resource Room - A Resource Room is located in the Resident Support Department at our offices at 300 S. Rocksprings St. Residents may check out books on parenting, life skills, and nutrition. A computer is also available for residents' use.
