Inter-Community Council
 |
The Inter-Community Council (ICC) is a not-for-profit organization that is resident run and serves as the representative body for all residents living with the Athens Housing Authority. The ICC is composed of representatives from Athens Housing Authority neighborhoods. ICC leaders encourage residents to participate in all phases of community life from safety issues to developing neighborhood programs. They may also locate resources to promote self-sufficiency programs and educational opportunities for residents. The ICC works with AHA staff to address residents’ concerns and to serve in an advisory capacity for the Board of Commissioners.
Athens Housing Authority resident participation funds are allotted to the ICC in order to carry out a number of services to our customers. The organization also raises funds through University of Georgia football parking and other events. As a not-for-profit organization, the ICC may also accept tax-deductible donations.
Services provided to residents by the ICC include:
- notary public and copying services;
- household pantry;
- information and referral services; and,
- scholarships for educational opportunities.
The ICC office is located on the first floor of Denney Tower, 250 W. Dougherty St. Office hours are Mon.-Thurs. between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For more information about ICC services, call (706) 208-17740>
